Hello and welcome to our blog.
First, the introductions: We are Mary and Martin, a husband and wife team from Coventry blogging on things we enjoy. Mary works part-time and Martin is retired, so we have the time to venture. We like to look for good value hotels and bargains to save us a bit of money.
We’ve called our blog Godiva Travellers. This is because Coventry is the home of Lady Godiva. Lady Godiva famously rode naked through the town on horseback as a condition for her husband, Earl Leofric, to reduce taxes on the local people. It was easier to get taxes reduced in 1065!
I’m Mary and I’m keen on photography and entering online competitions for holidays and general prizes. I don’t win as many as I would like, but I do win some and I love the surprise when one comes through the post or I get an exciting email telling me about a win.
Martin is a lifelong jogger and runs competitively in local races. We also love to combine holidays with his running races. We have enjoyed holidays in Paris, Venice and Lanzarote where Martin competed in the marathons. You’ll find details of some of his runs on the blog.
Another thing that he is very keen on is history. He will give a little historical background to places we travel to.
